Topographical Prints of India

Topographical Prints of India

An exhibition of 19th century landscape views in India. Topographical prints were extremely popular and sold in cities as far apart as London, Calcutta and Madras. They played an important role in how audiences thought of and imagined India. Using a range of works that span the late 18th to late 19th centuries, this show follows changes in print and image culture during this period.
