Maung HTun Hla

Maung HTun Hla

This exhibition includes both landscape and figural watercolours (studies of the different communities in Burma) by the celebrated artist Maung HTun Hla (1879-1946). Taught to paint in a monastery and going on to work as an independent painter in Rangoon, Hla’s life is a fascinating tale of an artist producing work from the turn of the nineteenth century through to the middle of the twentieth.
